Mariann Mayberry has assumed the role of Charlotte in David Greenspan’s Go Back to Where You Are, playing at Playwrights Horizons. She replaces Mary Shultz, who has left the cast due to a family emergency.

Mayberry is a Steppenwolf Ensemble member. Among her many stage credits are August: Osage County, Metamorphoses and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest on Broadway, as well as appearances at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, the Goodman Theatre, McCarter Theatre, Seattle Rep, and the Alliance Theater among others.

Directed by Leigh Silverman, the play focuses on a forgotten chorus boy from the theater of Ancient Greece, stuck in a lonely purgatory these past 2000 years, who is sent back to earth on a mission from God. The company also features playwright Greenspan, as well as Lisa Banes, Stephen Bogardus, Tim Hopper, Brian Hutchison, and Michael Izquierdo.

The creative team includes Rachel Hauck (scenic design), Theresa Squire (costume design), and Matt Frey (lighting design).
