Cowboy Jack Clement to Join Cast of Broadway’s Million Dollar Quartet for April 21 Jam Session

Legendary songwriter and record producer Cowboy Jack Clement will join the Broadway cast of Million Dollar Quartet for a special one time only jam session during the finale of the Thursday evening, April 21 performance of the musical, at the Nederlander Theatre.

Million Dollar Quartet was inspired by the famed 1956 recording session that brought together Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley — along with Sam Phillips, founder of Sun Records. Eric Schaeffer has directed the production, which features a book by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux.

Clement was present at the 1956 recording session on which the musical is based, serving as the engineer. He has also worked with numerous other recording superstars, including Dolly Parton, Ray Charles, Bobby Bare, Jim Reeves, Cliff Richard, Charley Pride, Tom Jones, Dickey Lee, Hank Snow, and Waylon Jennings.

The cast of Million Dollar Quartet currently features Eddie Clendening (Elvis Presley), Lance Guest (Johnny Cash), Jared Mason (Jerry Lee Lewis), Erik Hayden (Carl Perkins), James Moye (Sam Phillips), and Victoria Matlock (Dyanne).
