Evan Cabnet has replaced Alex Kilgore in stageFARM’s world premiere production of The Gingerbread House, currently in previews Off-Broadway at the Rattlestick Theatre, with an opening still set for April 18.

Mark Schultz’s play is about a couple whose attempts to get the better life they feel they deserve may destroy their family. As previously announced, the production stars Bobby Cannavale, Jason Butler Harner, Jackie Hoffman, Sarah Paulson, and Ben Rappaport.

The creative team includes John McDermott (sets), Ben Stanton (lighting), Jessica Wegener (costumes), Zane Birdwell (sound), and Richard DiBella (video/projections).

Cabnet is an associate artist with stageFARM and most recently co-directed the company’s 2008 series of short plays, SPIN with Kilgore. Additional directing credits include Donald Margulies’ Shipwrecked! An Entertainment at Long Wharf Theater, the world premiere of The Mistakes Madeline Made for Naked Angels/Culture Project, Brooke Berman’s Wonderland and Adam Szymkowicz’s Hearts Like Fists, as well as his own adaptations of Ubu Roi and Salman Rushdie’s Haroun and the Sea of Stories.
