The musical, with a score by Peter Foley and a book by Kate Chisholm, is adapted from Ursula K. LeGuin's short story about a society where math, science, and the thirst for the unknown have been forbidden by the government and forgotten by the populace. The Hidden Sky won the Richard Rodgers Development Award and was nominated for six Barrymore Awards.

Dandridge is one of the stars of Tarzan; Felciano and Molina co-starred in the award-winning revival of Sweeney Todd; Grandy and Yaukey are respectively appearing in the Broadway revivals of Les Misérables and Company.
