Playwrights Horizons' 2014-2015 Season to Include World Premieres by Heidi Schreck, Todd Almond, and More

The season’s world premieres will also feature the work of Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning playwright Bruce Norris.

Playwrights Horizons has announced the six productions of its 2014-2015 season, five of which will be world premieres and one a New York premiere that will kick of the season.

That New York premiere will be Robert O'Hara's Bootycandy, directed by O'Hara and beginning previews August 22. Next, Kip Fagan will direct the world premiere of Heidi Schreck's Grand Concourse, running October–December 2014.

The season's following three world premieres are Samuel D. Hunter's Pocatello (November 2014–January 2015), directed by Davis McCallum; Melissa James Gibson's Placebo (February–April 2015), directed by Daniel Aukin; and the new musical play Iowa (March–May 2015) by Jenny Scwartz, with music by Todd Almond and direction by Ken Rus Schmoll.

A new play, whose title has yet to be announced, by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Bruce Norris will conclude the season with a run at the Mainstage Theatre, beginning May 2015. Norris's plays include Domesticated, Clybourne Park, A Parallelogram, The Pain and the Itch, Purple Heart, The Unmentionables, and The Infidel.
