Billy Crudup to Star in Blood Ties Film

Tony Award winner Billy Crudup will star in Blood Ties, a crime thriller set in the 1970s, according to The Hollywood Reporter.


The film, to be directed and co-written by Guillaume Canet, will also star Clive Owen, Mila Kunis, James Caan, Zoe Saldana, and Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard.


The work, which will be adapted from French novel Les liens du sang centers on a man (Crudup) who has to ask his convict older brother (Owen) to go back into the underworld to help out the family.


Crudup received a Tony Award for his work in Tom Stoppard’s The Coast of Utopia, and received Tony Award nominations for his work in The Pillowman and The Elephant Man. He also starred in both Broadway productions of Stoppard’s Arcadia.


His many film credits include Thin Ice, Watchmen, Eat, Pray, Love, and Almost Famous.
