Newsical the Musical to Take Hiatus, Return in June

Newsical the Musical, performing at the 47th Street Theatre, will take a two month hiatus following its March 21 performance, and re-open in June. Mark Waldrop directs.

Composer-lyricist Rick Crom’s topical musical comedy lampoons current events, headlines, newsmakers, celebrities, and politicians. Songs and material are updated on a regular basis. The cast includes Christina Bianco, Amy Griffin, Rory O’Malley, Christine Pedi, Tommy Walker, and Michael West.

The creative team includes Ed Goldschneider (music director), Matthew Gordon (lighting designer), Jason Courson (set designer), and David Kally (costume designer).

Newsical shares its venue with the Puerto Rican Travelling Theater, which will be using the space for April and May.
