Line-up Announced for the 2009 Left Out Festival

The production line-up has been announced for the 2009 Left Out Festival, a celebration of gay performance art presented at Stage Left Studio, April 16-27. This year the festival will feature six solo shows, with each show being performed once per week.

The festival will open with The Gayla, April 15, a party at Evolve Bar with performances by Victoria and Switch ‘n’ Play. April 16 will feature monologues performed by Frank Blocker, Charnele Crick, Josef Wille, Russell Jordan, Robin Goldfin, Rhea McCallum, Miller Lide, Michelle Ramoni, The Lovely and Talented Miss Toni Silver, and Lisa Stephenson. Pamela Parker’s Dreams of Martha Stewart will play April 17 and 26 with Blocker directing; Sally Sockwell will perform Lisa Haas’ In Heat April 18 and 26 with Jocelyn Sawyer at helm; and Topher Cusumano’s Roughhouse will play April 18 and 25, directed by Matt Whalen.

Akil Wingate’s The Devil’s Back Door will play April 19 and 24; An Evening with Ben Lerman and his ukulele will take the stage April 19 and 23; Laramie Dean will perform Othernatural April 20 and 25; and the festival will close with a Spoken Word and Music Night, April 27, featuring Samantha Barrow, JEN/ed, Mahina Movement, Erin Markey, Athena and Company, and Pandora Scooter.
