Brochtrup, Dussault, Reynolds, Saviola, et al. Set for LADCC Awards

Bill Brochtrup, Nancy Dussault, Kevin Earley, Deidrie Henry, Bets Malone, Dakin Matthews, James Reynolds, and Camille Saviola will be among the presenters and performers at the 38th Annual Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards. The ceremony, to be co-hosted by by the performance troupe Culture Clash and critic Wenzel Jones, will take place on Monday, March 19 at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood.

Among the shows that received multiple nominations were Circle X’s The Brothers Karamazov, Valley Musical Theater’s Beehive, the Musical Theatre Guild’s A Man of No Importance, South Coast Repertory’s Bach at Leipzig, and Laguna Playhouse’s A Marvelous Party.

Twenty performers received individual nominations in three categories, including Jim Brochu (Zero Hour), Laurence Fishburne (Fences), Jay Johnson (The Two and Only), Cherry Jones (Doubt), Marc Kudisch (Zorba), and Lynn Redgrave (Nightingale).

The group will also give out six special awards, including the Margaret Harford Award for sustained excellence in theater to the Troubadour Theatre Company, the Ted Schmidt Award for the world premiere of a play to Richard Montoya for Water & Power, and the Joel Hirschorn Award for musical theater to Gerald Sternbach.
