The Ride, a mobile theater and touring experience that turns the streets of New York into a stage featuring live performances, is partnering with Couture Fashion Week to launch its new Couture and Luxury Fashion Tour. The premiere tour, which will roll out on February 13, will showcase models, photographers, and creative teams taking to the streets of NYC to present pop-up fashion shows for the press and public.

Designers included in the on-street shows include Andres Aquino (fashion), Elie Esper (hair), and Lancome (makeup). Planned stops include 46th St. between Broadway at 7th Ave. at 2:15pm, 7th Ave. and 39th St. (home of New York’s famous needle and button sculpture) at 2:45pm, and West Broadway and Broome St. at 3:30pm.Tarek Abbas directs.

The Fashion Week/The Ride partnership will continue beyond the 13th, with future Couture and Luxury Fashion Tours taking tourists to iconic fashion landmarks and fashion routes throughout the city. Tours will also include trunk shows and more pop-up runway walks where visitors can purchase featured items.

Launched in 2010 as a combination of theater and tourism, The Ride‘s fleet of “mobile theaters”—45 foot buses with stadium seating and panoramic windows—shuttle patrons to curated live events staged throughout New York City. Previous feature acts include stand-up comedy, group breakdancing, ballet duets, kazoo players, circus acts, sing-a-longs, and displays by 3D pop artist Charles Fazzino.
