On Monday, February 20, members of the cast and creative team for the new musical Once met with members of the press to talk about the show's upcoming Broadway production at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, with previews beginning February 28 in anticipation of a March 18 opening.
Directed by John Tiffany and adapted from the 2007 Academy Award winning film of the same name, the show features music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, and a book by Enda Walsh. Set on the streets of Dublin, Once focuses on an Irish musician, known just as "Guy," and a Czech immigrant, known just as "Girl."
The company features Steve Kazee (Guy) and Cristin Milioti (Girl), along with David Abeles, Claire Candela, Will Connolly, Elizabeth Davis, David Patrick Kelly, Anne L. Nathan, Lucas Papaelias, Andy Taylor, Erikka Walsh, Paul Whitty, and J. Michael Zygo. John Tiffany has directed the production, which has movement by Steven Hoggett and musical direction by Martin Lowe.
