The cast of the upcoming Broadway revival of Gore Vidal’s The Best Man, which will begin previews on March 6 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, met the press on Wednesday, February 1 at New 42nd Street Studios. The production, to be directed by Michael Wilson, will open officially on April 1.
The play is set at the national convention where two candidates are vying for their party’s nomination during the primary season.
The production will feature Candice Bergen, Curtis Billings, Corey Brill, Kerry Butler, Donna Hanover, James Earl Jones, Bill Kux, Angela Lansbury, John Larroquette, Dakin Matthews, Jefferson Mays, Eric McCormack, Michael McKean, and Fred Parker.Jr.
The design team will include Derek McLane (set), Ken Posner (lighting), John Gromada (original music/sound), and Ann Roth (costumes).
