Leigh Silverman will direct No Place to Go, written by Ethan Lipton with music composed by Ethan Lipton and His Orchestra, at Joe’s Pub, March 14-April 8.

The work was commissioned last spring by Joe’s Pub as part of its first ever grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. The show’s premise is that the company where playwright Lipton has worked for the past 10 years is moving to another planet, and he doesn’t want to go.

The show will feature Lipton along with Vito Dieterle (saxophone), Eben Levy (guitar), and Ian M. Riggs (bass). Lighting design will be by Ben Stanton.

Lipton is a winner of a NYFA grant and a Drama-Logue Award for playwriting. He has been a Kesselring prize nominee, an O’Neill Conference finalist; a member of the inaugural class of the Emerging Writers Group at The Public Theater; and is currently a Playwright’s Realm Fellow.

Silverman was most recently represented on Broadway with her direction of Chinglish, and aqdditional credits include Well, In the Wake, From Up Here, Yellow Face, Coraline, Beebo Brinker Chronicles, and Oedipus at Palm Springs.
