The Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel will not reopen for business. The room, which has been dark since January, was supposed to resume operations in May after an extensive renovation of the hotel, according to The New York Times.

The club has operated for over 30 years, and hosted many of the world’s top artists, most notably Andrea Marcovicci, who celebrated her 25th season at the club last year.

Performers who have played the room over the years have included Diana Krall, Jack Jones, Karen Akers, KT Sullivan, Steve Ross, Barbara Carroll, Howard McGillin, Jamie Cullum, Emily Bergl, and the late Mary Cleere Haran.
