Young Jean Lee will star in a one-person cabaret show with band, entitled We’re Gonna Die, to be presented at Joe’s Pub April 1-30. Paul Lazar will direct.

The piece — which features Lee telling stories and singing songs about shared human failure, sickness, aging, and death — is the 11th production from 13P, the OBIE-winning, 13-member playwrights collective Lee joined as a founding member in 2003. The show will feature music written and performed by Future Wife, a new music project from Lee and Brooklyn-based, British singer-songwriter Tim Simmonds.

In addition to those two artists, the group features collaborators Mike Hanf, Nick Jenkins and Ben Kupstas. As previously reported, the band released the song “I’m Spending Christmas Alone” as a special preview for the show last December.
