Richard Thomas to Receive NMA’s Nancy Ford Springer Inspiration Award; James Naughton to Host Gala Benefit

Emmy Award winner Richard Thomas has been named the recipient of the National Meningitis Association’s Nancy Ford Springer Inspiration Award, which will be presented to him at a gala benefit to be held at the New York Athletic Club, on April 25 beginning at 6:30pm.

Two-time Tony Award winner James Naughton will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the event, and will also perform. Additional honorees will include Bart and Michelle Oates, James C. Turner, M.D., and Chau-GiangThi Nguyen (Chosan Nguyen).

Thomas will star in the Public Theater’s production of Timon of Athens beginning later this month, and was most recently seen on Broadway in David Mamet’s Race. Among his other Broadway credits are Sunrise at Campobello, Strange Interlude, The Playroom, Everything in the Garden, Fifth of July, The Front Page, Democracy, and A Naked Girl On The Appian Way. He received an Emmy Award for his work on The Waltons.

The fundraiser will help NMA continue and expand its vital work in the fight against meningitis.
