Tony Award nominated playwright Craig Lucas will direct a reading of Chana Porter's Leap And The Net Will Appear, on March 14, as part of a reading series from AliveWire Theatrics to be held at 9th Space (at 150 1st Avenue, home of Performance Space 122). Additional plays in the series include The Paper Nautilus by Dan McClung, and Corner Pocket by Andy James Hoover, directed by Bridget Durkin.

In related news, the company has announced casting for its world premiere of Porter's Besharet, also at 9th Space. Scott Rodrigue will direct the production, which will run March 5-27, with an opening on March 7.

In the play, when a man unknowingly summons the past to haunt him in the form of a mysterious stranger, he and those around him must confront truths they conceal from each other and lies they tell themselves.

The cast will feature MacLeod Andrews, William Green, Olivia Rorick, and Tia Stivala. The creative team will include Dan Snazelle (sound design), Eric Berninghausen (set design), Jason Miller (lighting design), and Emily Peterson (costume design).
