Christopher Jackson to Celebrate Release of CD In the Name of Love with February 15 Canal Room Concert

Christopher Jackson will celebrate his debut solo CD, In The Name Of Love, with a day-of-release concert at The Canal Room on February 15, which will feature special guests Arthur and the Geniuses. Michael Murphy, Bill Sherman and Michael Croiter have produced the album for Yellow Sound Label.

The songs on the disc reflect such influences as Stevie Wonder, Curtis Mayfield and the Isley Brothers. In addition to the title track, the recording features “Be A Light” and “One More Day,” which has been written in response to the experience of the singer’s mother fighting and beating cancer.

Jackson was recently seen on Broadway as Benny in In the Heights. He also appeared on Broadway in The Lion King. His television credits include White Collar, Nurse Jackie, and Gossip Girl. As a songwriter, he has written such songs as “I Love My Hair” for Sesame Street, and “What I Am” performed by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas.
