Renee Fleming’s Dark Hope CD to Get Spring Release

Dark Hope, a new CD on which opera singer Renee Fleming covers 11 pop-rock tunes, will be released in Spring 2010, according to The New York Times.

According to the newspaper, the CD’s selections will include Jefferson Airplane’s “Today,” Arcade Fire’s “Intervention,” Tears for Fears’ “Mad World,” Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes,” Duffy’s “Stepping Stone,” and Leonard Cohen’s
“Hallelujah.” No concerts or other appearances iin conjuction with the CD are planned.

Fleming will appear in the Metropolitan Opera’s new production of Armida later this year.
