Producer David Brown Dies at 93

Legendary film and theater producer David Brown has died in New York City at age 93, according to The New York Times.

Brown produced five Broadway shows during his career: A Few Good Men, Tru, The Cemetery Club, Sweet Smell of Success, and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. He received four Oscar nominations as a film producer, for Jaws, The Verdict, A Few Good Men, and Chocolat. He also was an executive producer of the Oscar-winning film version of Alfred Uhry’s Driving Miss Daisy.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Gurley Brown, and his half-brother Edward.
