Public Theater Announces Cast for Tracey Scott Wilson’s Good Negro

Full casting has been announced for the Public Theater’s production of Tracey Scott Wilson’s The Good Negro, presented in association with Dallas Theater Center, to run March 3-April 5, with an opening set for March 16. Liesl Tommy will direct.

The play is set in the South during the 1960s American Civil Rights movement, as a trio of emerging black leaders attempts to conquer their individual demons amidst death threats from the Klan and wire taps by the FBI. Wilson’s other plays include The Story, Order My Steps, and Exhibit #9.

The cast will feature Joniece Abbott-Pratt, Francois Battiste, J. Bernard Calloway, Quincy Dunn-Baker, Erik Jensen, LeRoy McClain, Curtis McClarin, Rachel Nicks, and Brian Wallace. The creative team will include Clint Ramos (set and costumes), Lap Chi Chu (lighting), and Daniel Baker (sound).
