New York City’s historic Beacon Theatre will officially reopen on Friday, February 13 after a seven-month, $16 million renovation. Grammy Award winner Paul Simon will inaugurate the newly-refurbished, 2800-seat house, which is owned by Madison Square Garden, with concerts on February 13 and 14.

Much of the work, which was overseen by Beyer Blinder Belle, revolved around restoring the original design elements of the theater, which was built in 1929, including seating, lighting, artwork, and other decorative elements. In addition, the entire stage floor was replaced, restrooms were renovated, and a star dressing room and green room were created for the first time.

Other acts who are set to play the renovated venue include Leonard Cohen (February 19), Emmylou Harris, Shawn Colvin, Buddy Miller, and Patty Griffin (February 20), B.B King and Buddy Guy (February 21), LaBelle (February 26), Van Morrison (March 3-4), the Levon Helm Band (March 5-6), and the Allman Brothers Band (March 9-21).
