Andrea McArdle, Kate Pierson, New York Pops to Appear at Young People’s Chorus Benefit

The Young People’s Chorus of New York City will hold its 2009 gala benefit, A Celebration of Song — Shaping Lives at 7pm at Rose Hall at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

The group, under the artistic direction of Francisco J. Nunez, will be joined by the New York Pops, Tony Award nominee Andrea McArdle, Kate Pierson and Sterling Campbell of the rock group B-52s, and jazz musician Toshiko Akiyoshi.

The concert will include such songs as “Tomorrow,” “Arthur’s Theme,” and “Roam,” as well as selections from Carmina Burana, and Lakme.
