Batt, Denman, Graae, Pedi, et al. Win Back Stage Bistro Awards

The winner of this year’s Back Stage Bistro Awards, honoring excellence in cabaret, have been announced. The ceremony will take place on Monday, April 7 at Gotham Comedy Club.

This year’s recipients include Bryan Batt, Bree Benton, Marianne Challis, Jeffry Denman, Tony DeSare, Jason Graae, Linda Kosut, Christine Pedi, Stacy Sullivan, Jonathan Whitton, and Pinky Winters and Sir Richard Rodney Bennett, among others.

In addition, special awards will be given to Bart Greenberg for creating Barnes & Noble’s Any Wednesday series; Ronny Whyte for producing the Midtown Jazz at Midday series at St. Peter’s Church; and rising performer Gabrielle Stravelli. The Bistro’s highest honor, the Bob Harrington Lifetime Achievement Award, will be presented to Marilyn Maye.

This year’s committee, created by Sherry Eaker, included Elizabeth Ahlfors, David Finkle, John Hoglund, Erv Raible, Roy Sander, and Chuck Taylor.
