Nanette Fabray to Headline The Damsel Dialogues in L.A.

Tony Award winner Nanette Fabray will headline Dick De Benedictis’ musical revue The Damsel Dialogues, to play the Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks, March 2-April 7. The production, to be directed and choreographed by Miriam Nelson, will open officially on March 9.

The six-person cast also includes Rena Petrello, Sandra Purpuro, Catrina Quintanilla, Shannon Watson, and Michael Falcone. The creative team includes J. Kent Insay (sets and lighting) and Melissa Lugo (costumes).

The revue, which features 23 songs and five monologues, covers such topics as motherhood, divorce, therapy, plasic surgery, and sex. De Benedictis has written music for such television shows as Perry Mason and Columbo.

Fabray’s Broadway credits include Let’s Face It!, By Jupiter, Bloomer Girl, High Button Shoes, Mister President, and Love Life, which earned her a Tony Award. She starred in the MGM film The Band Wagon and appeared on numerous television series, including Caesar’s Hour, for which she won three Emmy Awards, One Day at a Time, and Coach.
