Casting Announced for The Broadway Musicals of 1929

Casting has been announced for The Broadway Musicals of 1929, the first concert of the fifth season of the popular "Broadway by the Year" series: Leslie Anderson, Nancy Anderson, Christine Andreas, Bryan Batt, Ron Bohmer, Mary Bond Davis, Jeffrey Denman, Noah Racey, and Emily Skinner are scheduled to perform. The one-night-only event will be held at 8pm on Monday, March 7 at The Town Hall, located at 123 West 43rd Street in Manhattan.

Among the composers and lyricists to be represented in the concert are Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers, Lorenz Hart, George and Ira Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Oscar Hammerstein II, and Fats Waller. Several standards will be performed, such as "With a Song in My Heart," "Why Was I Born?", and "Find Me a Primitive Man," but a number of unfamiliar songs will be heard as well. The "Broadway by the Year" series was conceived by TheaterMania's Scott Siegel, who serves as the host of each concert..
