Shanley, Meehan, Malina, and Meineck to Discuss Political Theater at Drama Desk Event

The Drama Desk will host a discussion of political theater on Thursday, February 19. The scheduled panelists are John Patrick Shanley (author of the play Dirty Story), Thomas Meehan (co-author of the book of Hairspray), Judith Malina (co-founder of the Living Theatre), and Peter Meineck (artistic director of the Aquila Theatre Company).

Moderated by Lucy Komisar, a theater critic for The American Reporter, the discussion will explore the status of political theater today and will include a look at the history and development of the genre in America.
