Producer and Cabaret Performer Bradshaw Smith Has Died

Producer and cabaret performer Bradshaw Smith died on Monday, January 16, following a sudden stroke. He was 57.

Among his awards for his performances were a Backstage Bistro in 1985, and the first MAC Award for Best Male Vocalist in 1987.

Off-stage, he created the cable television show, Cabaret Beat, receiving a MAC Board of Directors Award in 1990. He also co-created, with Richard Ridge, the cable program, Broadway Beat.

Bradshaw is survived by his brother, Robert Smith. A private funeral service will be held, with a memorial to follow. Donations in Bradshaw Smith’s name may be made to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
