Steve Martin will release his second bluegrass album, Rare Bird Alert, on March 15, according to an Associated Press report.

The disc will include 13 original songs, performed by Martin, along with the Steep Canyon Rangers, the bluegrass quintet with whom he has also toured. In addition, the album will feature performances by Paul McCartney, singing “Best Love;” and The Dixie Chicks, who will deliver a song entitled “You.”

Martin released his first bluegrass album, The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Bango in May 2009. It received the Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album (Vocal or Instrumental) in January 2010.

His theater credits include starring Off-Broadway in Waiting for Godot and he is also the author of such plays as Picasso at the Lapin Agile and The Underpants.
