Jim Belushi and Nina Arianda will star in Garson Kanin’s comedy Born Yesterday, to play Broadway’s Cort Theatre with previews beginning March 31, and an opening date set for Sunday, April 24. Tony Award winner Doug Hughes will direct.

The award-winning comedy is a timeless and timely story of a not-so-honest businessman and a not-so-dumb blonde out to “capitalize” on everything Washington has to offer.

The play had its New York premiere on February 4, 1946 starring Paul Douglas, Judy Holliday, and Gary Merrill. It was adapted to the screen in 1950 with Judy Holliday winning an Academy Award for repeating her stage role, opposite Broderick Crawford and William Holden with George Cukor directing.

Belushi appeared on Broadway in The Pirates of Penzance and Conversations With My Father. He received an Emmy Award nomination as one of the writers on Saturday Night Live, and also appeared on the show. His other television credits include According to Jim and The Defenders.

Arianda received a Theatre World Award and Outer Critics Circle nomination for her performance in Off-Broadway’s Venus in Fur.
