CSC’s Three Sisters, With Maggie Gyllenhaal, Anson Mount, Juliet Rylance, Peter Sarsgaard, Extends Through March 6

Classic Stage Company’s presentation of Anton Chekhov’s Three Sisters, has extended its run through March 6. The show begins previews on January 12 with an opening on February 3. Austin Pendleton will direct the play, featuring a translation by Paul Schmidt.


In this play about thwarted dreams, sisters Olga, Masha and Irina, are stuck in a backwater town, and long to get to Moscow where they imagine their lives will be transformed.


The cast features Maggie Gyllenhaal (Masha), Josh Hamilton (Andre) Jessica Hecht (Olga), Marin Ireland (Natasha), Anson Mount (Solyony), Juliet Rylance (Irina), and Peter Sarsgaard (Vershinin), alongside Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Tuesenbach), Roberta Maxwell (Anfisa), Louis Zorich (Chebutykin), George Morfogen (Ferapont), Paul Lazar (Kulygin), Gabriel Bettio (Rode) and James Patrick Nelson (Fedotik).


The production will feature set design by Walt Spangler, costume design by Marco Piemontese, lighting design by Keith Parham, sound design and original music by Christian Frederickson and Ryan Rumery and hair design by Paul Huntley.
