Christopher Plummer to Narrate Henry V for New York Philharmonic

Christopher Plummer will narrate Henry V: A Shakespeare Scenario, for the
New York Philharmonic at Avery Fisher Hall on Monday, April 11, at 7:30pm. Alan Gilbert will conduct.

The program will feature music from Sir William Walton’s Oscar-nominated score for the Laurence Olivier film of Shakespeare’s Henry V, and also include music of Shakespeare’s time. Joining the New York Philharmonic will be the Manhattan School of Music Symphonic Chorus and Chamber Choir, Kent Tritle, director, and The American Boychoir, Fernando Malvar-Ruiz, director.

Plummer won Tony Awards for Cyrano and Barrymore and most recently appeared on Broadway in Inherit the Wind and King Lear. He won the Evening Standard Award for the London production of Becket and frequently performs at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival. His many film and television credits include The Sound of Music, The Man Who Would Be King, and A Beautiful Mind.
