Edward Albee to Receive Writers Guild of America Award

Edward Albee will be honored by the Writers Guild of America East as the recipient of its Evelyn F. Burkey Award at the 62nd annual Writers Guild Awards ceremony on February 20 at the Hudson Theatre. The awards will be hosted by Susie Essman.

A three time Pulitzer Prize recipient, Albee earned the honor for his plays A Delicate Balance, Seascape, and Three Tall Women. He won Tony Awards for Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?. Playwrights Horizons will present the New York premiere of his play Me, Myself, and I later this year.
