Buckley, Holbrook, et al. to Play San Diego’s Balboa Theatre

San Diego’s historic Balboa Theatre will reopen after a five-year, $26.5 million renovation with a free public preview on January 11-13, and special grand opening gala on January 31.

Among the acts scheduled to play the venue in 2008 are Tony Award winner Hal Holbrook in the solo show Mark Twain Tonight (January 19), the Canadian Brass (January 27), Grammy Award winner Sergio and Odair Assad (February 11), the St. Petersburg Ballet (February 12), the New Shanghai Circus (February 17), A Year with Frog & Toad (March 9), the Vienna Boys Choir (March 16), the San Diego Men’s Chorus (April 12), and Tony Award winner Betty Buckley (May 10).
