American Theatre Wing Offers World Theatre Seminar, January 24


The American Theatre Wing will present a special seminar on World Theatre as part of its “Working in the Theatre” series on Friday, January 24.

The seminar will feature a panel of distinguished theater artists from around the globe, among them: director Valery Fokin; Anatoly Smeliansky, dean of the Moscow Art Theater School, critic, and editor of Stanislavsky’s collected
works; Shu Xiao, cultural consul of the Consulate of the People’s Republic of China; and moderator George C. White.

Now in their 31st year, the ATW’s “Working in the Theatre” seminars are held every spring and fall, with additional, special editions held throughout the year. The seminars are broadcast six times a week on CUNY-TV (Time Warner channel 75 and RCN channel 106) and are also shown regularly on Channel 36 in Los Angeles; check your local listings for additional information.

The World Theatre seminar will be held at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, 365 Fifth Avenue at 34th Street. Tickets will be distributed to reservation holders beginning 45 minutes prior to each seminar, with school groups and members admitted first.
