Jane Powell, legendary star of film (Royal Wedding, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers) and theater (Irene on Broadway, Cinderella at New York City Opera) joins an already star-studded cast, including Mimi Hines, Jane Connell, Marilyn Cooper, George S. Irving, Harvey Evans and Robert Fitch in the concert revival of the Kander & Ebb cult musical 70, Girls, 70. This will be the final presentation of the annual Musicals in Mufti series that distinguishes every season at the York Theatre. Performances are January 28 through January 30.
The first two concert readings in the series -- Wright & Forrest's Kean, starring Walter Willison, Christiane Noll, Susan Watson, and Arthur Rubin, runs this weekend, January 14 through January 16. Following that will be Harold Rome's Wish You Were Here, running January 21 through January 23, featuring Matt Bogart and Perry Laylon Ojeda.
Musicals in Mufti are presented at York Theatre's home base: the Theatre at Saint Peter's Church in the Citicorp Center, 619 Lexington Avenue at West 54th Street.
