Lee Sellars, Chris Wendelken, and Stephanie Zimbalist will star in Frank Gilroy’s The Subject Was Roses, to run February 8 – March 6 at George Street Playhouse. Michael Mastro will direct the production.

The Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play focuses on what happens when a young man returns to his parents’ home after serving in World War II.

Sellars’ New York stage credits include West Side Story and Talk Radio on Broadway and A Small Melodramatic Story and The Alchemist Off-Broadway. Wendelken has toured internationally with Big Dance Theatre and has performed regionally at such theaters as Long Center for the Performing Arts, Yale Rep, and the MCA in Chicago.

Zimbalist, perhaps best known for playing Laura Holt on television’s Remington Steele, has appeared at theaters around the country in such productions as The Threepenny Opera, The Philadelphia Story, The Crimson Thread, AdWars, Sylvia, Wonderful Town, and The Night of the Iguana, among others.

The creative team will include Michael Schweikardt (scenic design), Esther Arroyo (costume design), and Christopher J. Bailey (lighting and sound design).
