Cindy Williams and Jo Anne Worley will star in Surflight Theatre’s production of Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple (Female Version), to run August 4-21. Billy Van Zandt will direct.

Simon’s comedy classic of mismatched roommates gets a gender-bending twist as Florence Ungar (Worley) and Olive Madison (Williams) begin the play, not with the poker party of the original, but an evening in with the girls, playing Trivial Pursuit. The show also features a pair of neighbor brothers, recently arrived from Spain.

The cast will also feature June Gable as Sylvie, Lynne Marie Stewart as Vera, Sandy as Mickey, Megan Thomas as Renee, Ruben Ortiz as Jesus Costazuela, and Jonathan Weiner as Manolo Costazuela.

The creative team will include scenic designer Charlie Smith, costume coordinator Caitlin Reed, lighting designer Marciel Greene, and sound designer Nevin Steinberg.

Williams appeared as Mrs. Tottendale in the Broadway production of The Drowsy Chaperone and starred in the national tours of Grease!, Moon Over Buffalo and Death Trap. She is best known for her role as Shirley Feeney on the television classic, Laverne & Shirley.

Worley also played Mrs. Tottendale in the Broadway production of The Drowsy Chaperone, the City Center Encores! production of Follies, and the Los Angeles company of Wicked, among others. She is best known as one of the original stars of Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In.
