The minimalist rendering of the fairy tale-inspired musical is directed by Noah Brody and Ben Steinfeld, who also starred in the McCarter production. Fiasco is known for its acclaimed small-scale revivals of Shakespeare's plays Cymbeline and Measure for Measure.

Into the Woods weaves together the stories of Cinderella, Little Red Ridinghood, Jack (and his beanstalk), and a childless Baker and his wife as they seek to achieve their greatest wishes. The musical was last seen in New York as part of Shakespeare in the Park's 2012 summer season. It premiered on Broadway in 1987 and was revived in 2002. A film version hits movie screens on December 25.
