Nisi Sturgis to Play Title Role in Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey’s Trelawny of the Wells

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey will conclude its 50th anniversary season with Sir Arthur Wing Pinero’s Trelawny of the Wells, December 5-30 at the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre. Bonnie J. Monte will direct the production.

The play tells the story of Rose Trelawny, a young star of the London stage, who gives up her career to marry Arthur Gower, her aristocratic suitor.

The cast will feature company members Nisi Sturgis (Rose Trelawny), Jordan Coughtry (Arthur Gower), John Patrick Hayden (Tom Wrench), Edmond Genest (Sir William Gower), Jennifer Harmon (Mrs. Mossop) Jon Barker (Ferdinand Gadd), Caralyn Kozlowski (Imogen Parrott), Elizabeth Shepherd (Mrs. Telfer), Jim Mohr (Mr. Telfer), and Matt Sullivan (Ablett), along with Connor Carew, Rachel Fox, and Erica Knight.

The design team will include Anita Easterling and Bonnie J. Monte (sets), Hugh Hanson (costumes), and Tony Galaska (lighting).

Sturgis’ many stage credits include The Pretty Trap, I Capture The Castle, Arms and the Man, Perfect Harmony, and A Streetcar Named Desire.
