Kevin Kling's Northern Lights/Southern Cross Set for Guthrie Theater

Kevin Kling's autobiographical Northern Lights/Southern Cross: Tales from the Other Side of the World will be presented at the Guthrie Theater, October 22 - November 8. An international collaboration between Minneapolis' Interact Theater and Australia's Tutti Ensemble, companies both comprised largely of artists with disabilities, the production is staged by Interact artistic director Jeanne Calvit.

The piece details Kling's efforts to return to normalcy after a motorcycle accident. In addition to playwright Kling, the company of Northern Lights features Larry Yazzie's Native Pride Dancers, Aboriginal artists Steve and Jamie Goldsmith, and members of Robert Robinson's Twin Cities Community Gospel Choir. .

The creative team includes composer Pat Rix, lighting designer Karin Olson and scenic designer Brad Dahlgaard.
