Meryl Streep, Sandra Bullock, Oprah Winfrey to Co-Star in New Comedy from Michael Patrick King

Academy Award winners Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock will co-star with Emmy Award winner Oprah Winfrey in a new comedy about the world of a home-shopping channel, according to a report on Deadline.com. Michael Patrick King is set to write and direct the as yet untitled movie, which has no set shooting schedule.

Streep’s stage credits include Trelawny of the Wells, Secret Service, The Cherry Orchard, Happy End, The Seagull, and Mother Courage and Her Children. She is a two-time Oscar winner for Kramer Vs. Kramer and Sophie’s Choice.

In addition, she won the Emmy Award for HBO’s film version of Tony Kushner’s Angels in America. Among her upcoming projects are the film version of Tracy Letts’ August: Osage County, and Mommy & Me, which will co-star Tina Fey and be directed by Stanley Tucci.

Bullock won the Oscar for The Blind Side. Winfrey is the Emmy Award-winning host of The Oprah Winfrey Show. She also produced the Broadway musical The Color Purple and played Sofia in the film version.

King is best known for his work as writer and director of Sex and the City in film and on television.
