Helen Hunt to Headline LA Production of Much Ado About Nothing

Academy Award and Emmy Award winner Helen Hunt will play Beatrice in the Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles’ production of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, to run December 1-19 at the Kirk Douglas Theatre. Ben Donenberg will direct the production, which will have music by Lyle Lovett and choreography by Julie Arenal.

The production will also feature Tom Irwin (Benedick), Dakin Matthews (Leonato), Stephen Root (Don John), David Ogden Stiers (Dogberry), as well as Chris Butler, Ramon De Ocampo, Dawn-Lyen Gardner, Grace Gummer, Brian Joseph, Greta Jung, Geoffrey Lower, Anthony Manough, Jared Sakren, Fred Sanders, Sara Watkins, and Sean Watkins.

The creative team will include scenic designer Douglas Rogers, lighting designer Trevor Norton, costume designer Holly Poe Durbin, and sound designer by Adam Phalen.

Hunt has been seen on stage in Life (x) 3, Twelfth Night and Our Town. She won an Oscar for her performance in As Good As It Gets, and received four Emmy awards for playing the role of Jamie Buchman on the NBC sitcom Mad About You.
