Stage and screen stars Cheyenne Jackson and Scott Bakula have joined the cast of the upcoming HBO Liberace biopic Behind the Candelabra, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Stephen Soderbergh directs the biopic, which is written by Richard LaGravenese.
Michael Douglas will star in the film, opposite Matt Damon as the singer’s longtime partner, Scott Thornson.
Jackson told the site that he could not reveal the nature of his role, while Bakula will play choreographer Bob Black.
The film will also star Dan Aykroyd as Liberace’s manager, Rob Lowe as one of Liberace’s plastic surgeons, and Debbie Reynolds as Liberace’s mother, Frances.
