The Geffen Playhouse celebrated the opening of its production of Tracy Letts’ Superior Donuts, on Wednesday, June 8. Randall Arney has directed the production.
The play centers on the unlikely friendship that develops between the owner of a family-run donut shop in a decaying Chicago neighborhood and a young man who starts working in the store.
The cast stars Gary Cole (Arthur Przybyszewski) and Edi Gathegi (Franco Wicks), along with Brian Abraham (Kiril Ivakin), Ron Bottitta (Max Tarasov), Paul Dillon (Luther Flynn), Mary Beth Fisher (Officer Randy Osteen), Damon Gupton (Officer James Bailey), Kathryn Joosten (Lady Boyle), and Matt McTighe (Kevin Magee).
Among the attendees at the opening were Gil Cates, Dana Delany, Arye Gross, Marin Hinkle, Mary McDonnell, Rob Morrow, David Alan Novak, Mike O’Malley, William Peterson, and Phyllis Schuringa.
