Sally Struthers to Star in Annie at Cabrillo Music Theatre; 2011-2012 Season Announced

Two-time Emmy Award winner Sally Struthers will play Miss Hannigan in Cabrillo Music Theatre’s production of Annie, which will open the company’s 2011-2012 season, performing October 14-23.

Featuring a book by Thomas Meehan, music by Charles Strouse, and lyrics by Martin Charnin, the popuar musical concerns on a young orphan, a lonely millionaire, a scheming con artist, a bevy of adorable children, and an impossible to resist dog named Sandy.

Next up in the season will be the Thousand Oaks premiere of Ring of Fire (February 3-12), featuring the music of the incomparable Johnny Cash. In the spring, Cabrillo will present the wacky Broadway musical version of “The Princess and the Pea,” Once Upon a Mattress (April 20-29). The M.G.M. classic Meet Me in St. Louis will bring the season to a close with a family summer musical trip to the World’s Fair circa 1904, July 20-29.
