Julie Andrews to Be Honored at Backstage at the Geffen Benefit; Carol Burnett to Serve as Presenter

Stage and screen legend Julie Andrews will be honored with the Distinction in Theater Award at Backstage at the Geffen, a fundraising benefit to be held on Monday, May 2.

Carol Burnett will present the prize, which recognizes Andrews’ “enduring and unforgettable commitment to the arts.” Additional participants will be announced at a later date.

In addition, CAA, will receive the Distinction in Service Award for the company’s philanthropic spirit, the evening will feature a virtual tour of the playhouse as celebrities share backstage stories about their experiences performing at the event.

Andrews’ Broadway credits include Victor/Victoria, The Boy Friend, My Fair Lady, and Camelot. She won an Oscar in 1965 for her performance in i>Mary Poppins. Among her other film credits are The Sound of Music, Victor/Victoria and 10.
