Anna Deavere Smith Set for January 26 Getty Center Appearance

Actress and playwright Anna Deavere Smith will joins artists Carrie Mae Weems and Eileen Cowin for an evening of conversation and readings at the Getty Center in Los Angeles on Thursday, January 26 at 7:30pm.
They will discuss Cowin’s and Weems’ works on view in the exhibition Narrative Interventions in Photography at the Center, and will explore how storytelling impacts their art making.
Smith is currently the artist in residence at the Center for American Progress. Her theater work includes Let Me Down Easy, Fires in the Mirror, and Twilight: Los Angeles. She currently co-stars on Showtime’s Nurse Jackie.
