Lauren Ambrose to Join John Barrowman in BBC/Starz Series Torchwood

Lauren Ambrose will join the BBC/Starz series Torchwood, according to a report on EW.com. The actress is scheduled to appear in seven of the 10 episodes in the show’s upcoming season, playing Jilly Kitzinger, a PR person who has just signed a significant client.
Torchwood also stars John Barrowman and Eva Myles and centers on the members of the titular Torchwood Institute, a secret organization set up to combat threats to the human race. As previously reported, Bill Pullman will also be joining the series this season.
Ambrose appeared in Broadway in Awake and Sing! and Exit the King. In addition, she co-starred in the Shakespeare in the Park productions of Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet. She is best known for her work in HBO’s Six Feet Under.
