Jeff Daniels and Piper Perabo have joined the cast of the sci-fi film Looper, according to a report in Variety. Rian Johnson is directing the project which he has also written.

The film centers on a group of killers who send their victims back in time. The cast also features Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, Xu Qing and Noah Segan.

Daniels received a Tony Award nomination for his work in God of Carnage, a performance that he will reprise at the Ahmanson Theatre in April. Among his other recent theater credits are Blackbird at the Manhattan Theatre Club and the Goodman Theatre’s Turn of the Century. His many film credits include Dumb and Dumber, The Purple Rose of Cairo, Something Wild, and Terms of Endearment.

Perabo made her Broadway debut in Neil LaBute’s reasons to be pretty. On screen, she’s been seen in such films as Cheaper by the Dozen, The Lazarus Project, and Because I Said So. She currently stars as Annie Walker on USA’s Covert Affairs.
